NCAA Men's National Championship

It is time for an update on our tournament brackets. We are down to the Final Four. The scores as of now are:

Mom 55
Sarah 60
Tyler 63
Braden 53
Dad 77

Tyler will probably win this year as he has Duke winning the Championship. The rest of us had our championship teams beaten along the way. Arctic Circle here we come!

We decided since Easter Sunday falls on General Conference they could wear their new Easter Clothes the Sunday before. They all looked so nice.

Old Couch

This is the couch we replaced!

We bought this couch almost 12 years ago when we moved to St. George. We bought it used. It was just what we needed. It has a hide a bed, and we needed an extra bed for company to sleep on, so it was great. When we moved to Layton 9 years ago, I had to buy a couch cover for it. The cushions were starting to get a little warn. It was a great couch and it definitely served its purpose in our family. We no longer have the need for a hide a bed. As you can see it was time for a new couch.

I pulled out the bed to remove the cover and the egg shell and the kids wanted to play on the bed.

Boy did they have fun. I let them jump on it, what a treat for them. Sarah went to bed singing the "blues" about the couch. She was so sad that it was going to the dump the next day. She was laying in her bed singing and crying about how she was going to miss the couch. She told me it was the only thing we had fun in the whole house. I told her we could get rid of all her toys, and she agreed. Then she said she might change her mind in the morning and she did. She decided to keep her toys. Tyler was also sad about the couch leaving. He was almost in tears when he went to bed.

New Furniture!

We have been married almost 13 years, and we have never had a new couch or table. We decided this was the year. We bought the couch and recliner at John Paras Furniture and the table at RC Willey.

New Couch! Both of the ends recline. It is awesome!

Here is the new table. RC Willey was having a sale where you bought the table and 4 chairs and they gave you two chairs for free! It was great! The table has a leaf that can be added. It will add 18" to the length of the table.

I just keep walking around with a huge smile on my face. It is so great to have something of my very own. I love it.

First Day of Spring!

Saturday was the First Day of Spring. It was a lovely day and we spent some time together as a family. Here are some pictures of us have our first cookout of the year.

We had a great evening. It was not too hot or cold and it felt great sitting around the fire in our own backyard. It was a lot of fun!

We spent most of the afternoon outside doing yard work. Wayne pruned the roses and I cleaned the garage! In the morning we went and bought some new furniture. Wednesday we will be getting a new couch and recliner and Thursday we will be getting a new kitchen table and chairs.

Braden had a lot of fun playing basketball this year! He had a great coach and loved playing at Dad's school. Great job Braden!

I figured between Wayne, Braden and Tyler I watched about 30 basketball games this winter. It was a lot of fun, but I am glad it is over.

I decided this year to have a "green" dinner for St. Patrick's Day. The menu consisted of:

Grilled Chicken topped with Green Parsley (Sarah wouldn't eat it, because she said it had grass on it.)

I got this idea from Marilyn. She has done it for years and I decided to copy her. It was a yummy dinner and made for some great conversation at the table.

Here is Braden with his rocket! If you have never seen this it is pretty fun! I only got one picture of Braden, because Wayne had to take Tyler to Basketball and I was in charge. So I didn't have time to take pictures.

This was a fun event. It was a little tricky to get the winding and stuff figured out, but thanks to all of the great Dad's, my awesome Den Leaders and Bishopric Members we finally got it figured out. I think all of the boys had fun!

All the piano students choose songs from movies. Braden played "Star Wars the Main Theme"
from Star Wars. Notice no music! Before we left I asked him if he needed his music, he informed me that he had it memorized and didn't need it! He did great! We were so proud of him! It is so exciting to see him playing the piano and loving it!

After Chuck E Cheese's we came home and had Pizza, opened presents and had a big cookie and ice cream! Logan gave Tyler this light saber! He was so excited! It lights up and makes sounds! Cool! He was so excited he ripped the package open and there was cardboard all over the floor before we could get in there to help!
