SNOW!

Thursday, January 10
It started snowing about 3 pm and around 6 pm we went out to shovel the 6 inches that had already fallen.

Friday, January 11 - Snow Day!
The next morning Mom and Dad got up at 5:30 to shovel snow, and at 6 am the phone rang saying that there would be no school that day.

At about 7 am Mom and the boys trudged through the snow to Walmart to buy some sleds, so we could go sledding.
The only sleds they had were these little ones, we already had the green disc, so we headed out and blazed our own trails.

The kids had fun!  Dad even went down the hill!
The kids built a snow fort for each of them.  They even made tunnels through the whole thing.  They had hours of fun in the snow!
This is the pile of snow on the side of our driveway!

All said and done we got about 2 feet of snow from the storm the Weather people called Gandolf!

We went sledding again with some friends on Saturday, but I didn't get any pictures!

On Sunday we were all sore from shoveling so much snow!

Projects

We cleaned out bedrooms, and the kids wanted to take pictures of these projects they cleaned out of their room!

Christmas Day

Installing the new microwave was a big chore.  We had to take all the stuff out of the cupboards, which made the table a mess,  the oven was pulled out, and taking out the old one was a big chore.
 Here is the new one!

Yeah!  It is so nice to have a quiet microwave that actually cooks food!
Because the kitchen was torn apart, we had a picnic lunch amid the mess of toys in the living room for lunch.
 Sarah and Dad!
Tyler building his giant Lego set!
Braden reading his Kindle.  He checked out an E-book from the library.
Sarah made some cookies in her EZ Bake Oven!
It took him all day but he finally finished the ship!
This is actually the next day, but this is the other Lego ship he got for Christmas!

Christmas Morning

December 25
The kids all slept downstairs in the tent and we told them they couldn't come upstairs until Mom and Dad came down and got them.  That way they wouldn't see the presents until everyone was there.  It was about 6:30 when we heard them rustling around down there.  So we went and got them.
Sarah got and EZ-Bake Oven.
Braden got a Kindle Fire!
Tyler got this giant Star Wars Lego Ship!
We left or "Magic Reindeer Food out the night before and here are the footprints we found in the snow the next morning.
Mom got a new microwave!

As you can see the kids got everything the wanted.  It is always so fun to see their faces when they open their presents.

Christmas Eve

December 24
We started out the day with our traditional breakfast at Sill's Cafe in Layton.  It was delicious.  Then we came home and watched some movies on TV and made our dinner of Prime Rib.  It was delicious.  After that we went and looked at lights and then had our reading and acting out the story of Christmas.
Sarah (Mary), Tyler (Samuel the Lamenite, Joseph), Braden (Shepherd, Wise man, Angel)
Throwing "rocks" at Samuel the Lamenite on the city wall.

The angel appeared.

We bought this new 4 man tent and the kids thought it would be fun to sleep in it on Christmas Eve.  Tyler went to his bed around 2:30 am, Braden said he didn't sleep well, but Sarah said she slept great!
